To promote and enhance community awareness of The Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior and its clinical care partner, The Resnick Neuropsychiatric Hospital at UCLA

To assist in fundraising efforts to support research being done at The Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior. Private funding is vital to sustain the clinical, research, and teaching missions of the Institute.

To provide a forum where Friends of The Semel Institute for Neuroscience
and Human Behavior can interact with leading researchers and clinicians
in their respective fields in small informal settings.

To serve as a liaison to the local and national business, professional, religious, cultural, and educational communities to advance understanding of The Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior’s purpose and direction

To present educational programs on topics of mental illness, and lessen
the stigma attached to these illnesses.
